Intro to International Arbitration in Taipei

On 11 February 2023, the Taiwan Chapter of Ciarb East Asia Branch, successfully conducted the ‘Introduction to International Arbitration’ course with a total of 30 candidates attending in person at Fa, Jyh-Pin Lecture Room kindly offered by the College of Law of the National Chengchi University (NCCU) in collaboration with NCCU and Chen & Chang.

Glenn Haley C.Arb FCIArb (Course Director) delivered a warm welcome address online from Hong Kong, emphasising that attending the Introductory course is an excellent starting point for all candidates to further pursue their career in international arbitration. Mary Thomson (past Chairperson for EAB), an old friend of many members in Taiwan, again supported this course by giving insightful lectures online from the UK. All local faculty members, Dr. Helena Chen (Convenor of the Taiwan Chapter), Ms. Alison Chang (former Head of the Taiwan Chapter YMG), and Ms. Monica Wang (Secretary-General of the Ciarb Taiwan Chapter) attended the course in person to deliver engaging lectures and to interact with the candidates.

The Taiwan Chapter of Ciarb East Asia Branch would like to thank all candidates for their active engagement in the course and the College of Law of the National Chengchi University (NCCU), in particular, Prof. Anna Yan and her team, for their assistance to the success of the course. The Chapter is dedicated to organising similar or more advanced courses in the future to contribute to the growth of the international arbitration community in Taiwan and support potential newcomers to this exciting field.
