The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Young Members Group (YMG) is delighted to announce the appointment of Folake Sadiq MCIArb to its Global Steering Committee.
Having obtained her LL.B from the University of Lagos, Folake went on to achieve an LL.M from the Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen where she was awarded the Thompson Reuters Prize for ‘All Round Best Performing Student’ within LL.M International Commercial Law. She is an accredited Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria

Her professional and academic experience and her dynamic leadership of the Nigeria YMG make her an outstanding addition. The YMG has a number of exciting initiatives planned for 2018 and we welcome her valuable input and the added perspective that she will bring as we continue to promote the interests of young members worldwide.”
Folake has been the Chair of the Nigeria YMG since July 2017, having made constructive contributions as Assistant Secretary between 2011-2014. She has served on a diverse range of committees for the Nigeria Branch and boasts extensive speaking and tutoring experience in both the UK and Nigeria. In addition to her commitment to CIArb Nigeria, she is also the current standing Head of the Legal Department and Company Secretary to Lagos Bus Services LTD.
