CIArb is delighted to promote the Moot Alumni Association’s Inaugural Mentorship Programme for 2019-2020 and invites CIArb’s Members and Fellows to participate as Mentors.
The Moot Alumni Association (“MAA”) was created during the third season of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna and is a non-profit organization comprised of students, academics, and professionals who share a common interest in international arbitration and trade law. The MAA organizes international conferences and legal seminars, publishes the Vindobona Journal of International Commercial Law and Arbitration, and organizes events during the Vis Moot in Vienna and Vis East in Hong Kong. The MAA strives to bring relevant international professional and academic opportunities to its 5,000+ members worldwide.
The MAA Mentorship Programme offers law students and young professionals an opportunity to receive guidance and support from an experienced legal professional in the fields of international arbitration and/or trade law as they begin to develop their careers.
The MAA is currently recruiting Mentors for this year’s MAA Mentorship Programme and they are looking for professionals who are interested in making an impact on the next generation.
Eligibility
Mentors will ideally have at least 5 years of professional experience. Mentors will have excellent communication skills, the time to commit themselves to at least three one-on-one (virtual) meetings with their mentee and a desire to contribute to the growth and development of future young legal professionals.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Mentor, please email the MAA Mentorship Programme Committee at MAAMentorMentee@maa.net by 7 July 2019 and include relevant personal details such as current position and affiliations. For more information, see the MAA Mentorship Programme Guidelines.
The 2019-2020 Mentorship Programme is scheduled to take place from 31 July 2019 – 30 April 2020.
Note: All MAA Mentorship Programme participants—including Mentors—must be members of the MAA. If you would like to become a Mentor or refer the MAA Mentorship Programme to someone who is not yet a member of MAA, please first sign up as a member here.
The MAA Mentorship Programme Committee looks forward to hearing back from interested CIArb affiliated members to continue to grow the arbitration community by building bridges between new and more experienced generations in arbitration.
