Areas of Expertise:

Mr. Hamann is specialized in domestic and international arbitration, plant construction and infrastructure projects, corporate law, post M&A, contract law and international public law. He is engaged Africa on a regular basis since 2007. Mr. Hamann participated in approx. 60 arbitral proceedings (ad hoc, SO construction, ICC, DIS) as party representative and in SOBau and ad hoc proceedings as arbitrator. The subject matter of arbitral proceedings included partnership agreements, construction and plant construction agreements as well as post M&A. Mr. Hamann founded law firm Hamann Rechtsanwälte in 2013. He was partner at CMS Hasche Sigle from 1990 to 2012. Mr. Hamann’s memberships include DIS, CIArb (Fellow), African Law Association (Member of executive committee). Mr. Hamann is lecturer at the FU Berlin ("Drafting Contracts, Conducting Negotiations and Conflict Resolution in Private Law") since 2006 and at the TU Chemnitz ("Drafting Contracts in Civil and Commercial Law") since 1993. Mr. Hamann studied law in Freiburg, Salamanca and Geneva. He completed his first state examination in Freiburg in 1987 and his second state examination in Stuttgart in 1990. Mr. Hamann earned his doctorate degree at the University of Freiburg (Prof. Dr. Klaus Tiedemann, Criminal Antitrust Law) in 1991. Mr. Hamann is proficient in German, English, French and Spanish. Mr. Hamann published a number of articles and chapters in legal periodicals and handbooks.
