Gustaaf Reerink is foreign counsel at ABNR Counsellors at Law since 2013. He advises on corporate and commercial transactions, specializing in foreign investment, corporate/mergers & acquisitions, and antitrust, across a broad range of industries, including automotive, aviation, consumer goods & e-commerce, education, financial institutions, pharmaceuticals & healthcare, power & renewables, real estate & infrastructure, shipping & maritime, telecoms, and tourism. He is also specialist in Indonesian contract law and available to act as an arbitrator in any commercial disputes related to Indonesian contract law.
Gustaaf graduated from Leiden University in the Netherlands, where he earned an LLM in private law, an MA in Indonesian studies, and a PhD for a dissertation on Indonesian land law. In addition, he read law at King’s College London and the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and studied French at the University of Burgundy in Dijon.
Gustaaf regularly publishes articles and gives presentations on Indonesian legal matters, and serves as a guest lecturer at several Indonesian universities and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. He also supports, as a board member/volunteer, several non-profit organisations in the field of education, public health, rule of law development, trade & investment promotion, and heritage. Gustaaf was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 2008, is a registered foreign lawyer in Indonesia, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). He is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
