Hiba Irshaid is one of the most experienced and dynamic implementing engineers in Jordan working in the environmental management and behavior change arena. She has more than 20 years of experience in managing major development projects related to water and solid waste, and public sector reform. Hiba has more than 18 years of experience in municipal waste management as a bio-gas project coordinator with UNDP/Jordan coordinating the municipal waste management program (biogas project), Senior Solid Waste Expert at the USAID Public Action Project, using the social marketing tools to promote waste best management practices, USAID-CITIES Implementing Transparent, Innovative, and Effective Solutions as Municipal Waste Expert advising 33 Jordanian municipalities of the best waste management system, and as a Project Manager at GIZ Waste to Energy Project to implement WM interventions at twenty-six municipalities managing the more than € 26 m GIZ grant for Cash for Work activities . Also, she has more than 5 years of experience in water and waste water project management as a Program Manager at the Project Management Unit PMU/ EU, managing the $80 m KfW loan to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, from tendering to contract management. She also has had extensive skills developed in reviewing the corporatization documents for water supply and delivery companies. Hiba is unique in Jordan as an environmental engineer with proven results-driven experience with changing behavior of suppliers and consumers in terms of greater natural resource efficiency. In this regard, she has developed specialized skills in using social marketing to change institutional and personal behavior. She has applied these special skills in training other Jordanian experts NGOs and CBOs to deliver change results. Additionally, Hiba offers experience in public sector reform based on her many years with the Public Sector Reform Unit /World Bank to improve the services of the Jordanian public institution.
