On an annual basis HKA publishes its CRUX Insight report which identifies the causes of Claims and Disputes around the World. The aim of CRUX report is to better understand claims and dispute causation and to reinvigorate the debate about how best to reduce the prevalence of disputes across the engineering and construction industry.
In this event we have a panel discussing and answering question on some of the causes of disputes. Andrew Drennan MCIArb along with experts from HKA will deal with the technical aspects and Leigh Herd MCIArb with colleagues from Shepherd & Wedderburn will deal with the Legal aspects.
Andrew Drennan MCIArb is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years of construction industry experience. He has worked for leading UK contractors in senior commercial management roles and as a quantum and contracts specialist his experience ranges from buildings, power generation and utilities to major road and rail infrastructure projects. Andrew is a practicing quantum expert and is currently leads HKA’s delay and quantum teams in Scotland and North East England.
Leigh Herd MCIArb is an Associate at Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP, specialising in contentious construction. Leigh’s experience ranges across the field of construction, engineering and major projects disputes, focusing her practice on utilities and disputes in the energy sector, both north and south of the border. She is experienced in litigation as well as having extensive experience in adjudication, arbitration, expert determination and mediation. Leigh also has a unique insight into ADR through her role as Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of the Scottish Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
