Event Speakers
Aleksander Kalisz is a Research Associate in Dispute Resolution at the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, King’s College London and a Visiting Fellow at the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law, Stockholm University. His specialism is in construction disputes, arbitration and international economic law. He has practical experience with High Court commercial litigation and international arbitration matters under the DIAC, LCIA, ICC, SCC, VIAC, ICSID and Polish-German Chamber of Commerce arbitration rules. Aleksander also teaches dispute resolution and principles of English law on the MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London and on the Africa Construction Law Training Academy.
Ulrike is one of the leading personalities in dispute resolution, specializing in national and international arbitration. Leveraging over a decade of corporate and M&A advisory experience, Ulrike serves as an arbitrator and advises clients in complex proceedings with particular dedication to energy related disputes, turn-key construction and post-M&A/contract disputes. Her practice covers international commercial arbitration, investor-state disputes, adjudication proceedings, and litigation. As a qualified German lawyer with working experience in France, she is dedicated to international work, having participated in arbitration proceedings across various jurisdictions. Her extensive arbitrator experience significantly influences her counsel work.
Dr Laura Lintott is Solicitor Advocate and Counsel at Watson Farley & Williams. She has extensive experience leading on complex construction disputes. Laura has a PhD in Law (Cambridge University) and is Visiting Fellow at KCL where she joined the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution’s Taskforce, which responded to the Law Commission’s proposed Arbitration Act reforms. Laura contributed with a chapter to the book “The History of the Technology and Construction Court” and authored a book on party wall dispute prevention/management (publishing in mid-2024). Laura is a regular panellist/podcast speaker.
Joseph Otoo is a Senior Legal Counsel and Associate Director at global design and engineering firm, Arup, where he provides legal and strategic advice on construction, engineering, energy, and infrastructure projects.
Joseph also acts as Arup’s UKIMEA Digital Legal Lead. With over 15 years of experience as an energy and infrastructure projects lawyer in both private practice and in-house, Joseph has significant exposure to and experience of disputes and arbitrations related to international projects, in addition to project delivery advisory. Joseph is a Visiting Fellow at the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London.
Dr Yue Zhao is Deputy Counsel at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), where she oversees international arbitration cases across various industries such as construction and engineering, investment, and trade. She also supports SIAC’s participation in UNCITRAL Working Group III (Investor-State Dispute Settlement Reform). Dr Zhao holds a PhD summa cum laude from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and serves as an editor for East and Central Asia for the Kluwer Arbitration Blog.
