We are sorry to inform members that Dr Wilfred Mutubwa C.Arb FCIArb has sadly passed away.

Dr Mutubwa was an integral member of the Ciarb Kenya Branch Committee, fulfilling the role of Vice Chair from June 2019 and, subsequently, Chair of the Branch from 2021 to 2023.

Jacqueline Waihenya C.Arb FCIArb FCS LLM, Chair of Ciarb Kenya Branch, said “We are profoundly saddened by the untimely passing of Dr. Wilfred Mutubwa OGW LL.D FCIArb Chartered Arbitrator. His sudden departure represents a significant loss to the Ciarb Kenya Branch and the broader Ciarb fraternity, as well as the Arbitration and ADR community in Africa and beyond. He positively impacted many through his passion for excellence, industry, and mentorship, always ready to uplift others and create opportunities. His contributions have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his legacy continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Dr. Wilfred Mutubwa. Though your time with us was far too short, your impact will be felt for generations to come.”

Dr Mutubwa was the founding Principal of Dr. Mutubwa Law Advocates and Senior Lecturer at the Mt. Kenya University. He held many distinguished roles during his career, including being a member of the Task Force appointed by the Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya on ADR.
