Don MacIntyre, former CEO of the Personal Finance Society, boasts a highly successful career marked by his exceptional leadership and transformative contributions across various sectors. Prior to assuming his role at the PFS, Don played a pivotal role as Interim CEO of the UK Cyber Security Council, a newly established self-regulating body. Under his guidance, the council successfully navigated its critical "start-up" phase, evolving from a transitional team into a fully operational entity.
Don's visionary leadership was evident in his efforts to establish the council from scratch. Within the first 90 days, he achieved Charitable status, showcasing his remarkable ability to expedite crucial administrative processes. Notably, his collaboration with the Privy Council resulted in the attainment of Chartered Status within the council's inaugural year. Don's collaborative approach extended to working closely with governmental bodies such as the Treasury, Cabinet Office, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), where he lent his expertise to support the government's consultations on long-term legislation for the cyber security profession.
Before his tenure at the UK Cyber Security Council, Don served as the Global Business Development Director at IPPF, one of the largest NGO Membership Associations globally. During his three-year tenure, he spearheaded a highly successful business development team, operating across six global offices. Don's remarkable achievements included securing over £320 million worth of international development programmes, notably the UK Government's flagship health initiative, Women's Integrated Sexual Health (WIS), spanning 17 countries. His impact on IPPF's 60-year history was profound.
Don's knack for revitalising organisations was further evident in his role as Interim Deputy CEO at OPM Group, a prominent research and consultancy organisation. Here, he implemented a strategic business development activation plan that led to the formation of a dynamic new team and an astonishing increase in turnover by £1.8 million in under six months.
Known for his outstanding communication skills, collaborative spirit, and strategic acumen, Don MacIntyre has consistently demonstrated his ability to build successful teams and drive positive change. His career, characterised by excellence in economic development, international development, and membership and association industries, stands as a testament to his leadership prowess and dedication to driving meaningful transformation.
