Ciarb and QICCA agree collaboration
New MoU demonstrates commitment to promote private dispute resolution in Qatar, upholding high standards, and with an emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion.
Ciarb has signed a memorandum of understanding with QICCA (the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration). The two organisations commit to promoting private dispute resolution in all its forms in Qatar by:
- Championing high quality training and ongoing learning, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Co-operating on equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women and those from underrepresented groups in the profession.
- Collaborating on thought leadership and research in private dispute resolution.
- Working together on joint training programmes and events.
Ciarb and QICCA signed the MoU at the 5th World Conference on International Arbitration 2024 held in Doha, Qatar, on 19 November 2024.
Catherine Dixon MCIArb, CEO of Ciarb, said, “The adoption of private dispute resolution in Qatar and the wider MENA region continues to grow apace. We see this reflected in the increasing success of the Ciarb Qatar Branch. Indeed, Ciarb’s Global Conference will be held in Doha, Qatar in October 2025. Our collaboration with QICCA supports this growing demand for private dispute resolution. Together, we will support professionals of all backgrounds to join the sector, and uphold the high standards of professional and ethical practice set by Ciarb.”

About the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA)
Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration is an independent entity established in 2006 by virtue of a resolution of the Qatar Chamber‘s Board of Directors to create an efficient and swift mechanism to settle disputes between Qatari commercial companies or between national companies and their foreign counterparts. QICCA is the only authorised entity in the State of Qatar providing dispute resolution services through alternative means such as arbitration, conciliation and mediation in accordance with the provisions of Article No. 4 (paragraph 9) of the law establishing The Chamber No. 11 of 1990.
