The launch of the Branch follows an agreement concluded between the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration and Ciarb during the third SCCA conference, the main event of Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024, held in March. The agreement provides that SCCA will host the Ciarb Branch in Saudi Arabia and that the parties will co-operate with regard to its activities.

It is anticipated that the Ciarb Branch will organise many knowledge and communication activities aimed at enriching the commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution community in Saudi Arabia. It aims to enhance the level of knowledge and practice among practitioners, and create opportunities for those involved in the industry in various business sectors to meet and forge relationships. As part of its activities, the Branch will hold seminars, panel discussions, lectures, debates, mock arbitration sessions, and numerous social and communication events.
