Branch Mentoring Programme
Ciarb Egypt Branch established the Mentoring Programme in 2020 - the first such programme initiated by a Ciarb Branch in the region.
The programme provides young Ciarb members interested in arbitration and ADR with the opportunity to learn from the experience of more senior members of the arbitration community.
Mentoring Groups are formed of 1-4 ‘Mentees’ (under the age of 40) assigned to a ‘Mentor’ (a senior arbitration/ADR expert) and a ‘Mentor Supporter’ (an established practitioner). Each Group works together for a one-year cycle, developing a plan for activities aimed at developing relations across the Group and facilitating the Mentees’ integration into the arbitration and ADR world.
Young members of Ciarb can apply to participate in the Mentoring Programme at the start of each new cycle. The cycle comprises four Groups, one of which is conducted virtually for non-resident Mentees. No fee is charged and no financial benefits are available through the programme.

New Cycles and Networking Events
New Cycles and Networking Events
The duration of each mentoring cycle is one year, during which the Mentees of the 4 Groups (about 18 young Ciarb members) learn from the knowledge and practice of the experienced Mentors. The Branch archives the materials (photos, posts, videos, online meetings, recordings, reading lists, mock cases, etc.) to document the activities of each cycle to improve the following cycles.
The Branch announces on its LinkedIn page the launch of each new mentoring cycle and invite young members to apply for the role of a “Mentor Supporter” or “Mentee”.
Upon the formation of the four Groups, the Branch invites members of the previous cycle and members of the new cycle for a networking event hosted by CRCICA (the Seat of the Branch). During the event, Mentors and Supporters from the previous cycle brief their experience, the new cycle is introduced by the Branch Chair, videos documenting activities or testimonials by members of the previous cycle are presented and, finally, members of the previous cycle are awarded appreciation certificates.
