Personal bio
I am a litigation lawyer and partner working with Byenkya, Kihika & Co. Advocates, Kampala - Uganda. I also teach law as a tutorial assistant in two universities in Uganda. I have been involved in a number of ground breaking cases but after some time, I felt the need to consider arbitration. I decided to choose arbitration over litigation because of the easiness and structure of doing things. Litigation is a little more frustrating and takes so many years to have a decision given the appellate system in place from High court to Court of Appeal and then, Supreme court. I have so far been involved in four arbitrations as a lawyer. Therefore, enrolling for this course/module was the best thing to happen to me. Though I have been handling arbitration as a lawyer, during this course/module, I noticed that there were so many things I was lacking. This course has therefore, exposed me to so many things in the arbitration world and also, widened my understanding of arbitration.
