Practice Summary PROFESSONAL PROFILE Stephen studied law at Oxford University and was called to the Bar in 1972. During over 40 years practice at the Bar of England and Wales he developed a wide ranging and successful civil practice in the County Court and High Court and at appellate level. He was well reviewed in professional directories. His fields of work included: • Construction Disputes • Adjudication and Arbitration Disputes • Commercial Claims • Development Agreements • Planning Law Issues • Professional Negligence • Commercial and Property Insurance Disputes • Sales of Land • Property Disputes relating to rights over land. • Boundary issues. • Mediation He was the author of leading texts on the specialist property law topics of party wall law and rights of light. He has also given many lectures to professional audiences on legal property and construction law. QUALIFICATIONS Stephen’s qualifications are: • MA (Oxon) in Jurisprudence • Barrister at Law of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple-non practising. • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators • Chartered Arbitrator. • Accredited Mediator • Member of the adjudication panels of Technology and Construction Solicitors Association, Technology and Construction Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and UK Adjudicators. • Member of the Society of Construction Arbitrators. CURRENT ACTIVITIES He has retired from practice as a barrister to concentrate on dispute resolution.
