Artem Barsukov, FCIArb is a Partner at a Bennett Jones LLP where he has a nearly decade-long practice focused exclusively on commercial arbitration. Over the years, Artem has successfully represented clients all over the world in complex international and domestic arbitrations collectively worth over USD $2 Billion. He has acted as arbitration counsel under the leading international arbitration systems, including ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL, and appeared before multinational Arbitral Tribunals in Doha, Qatar; London, England; and Mexico City, Mexico; as well as virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. Artem has a particular expertise in complex construction disputes, having acted for owners, contractors, and subcontractors in a wide variety of disputes arising from large-scale international construction projects. Prior to entering private practice, Artem worked at the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, where he learned the inner workings of judicial decision-making and how to craft well-supported and reasoned decisions. A true citizen of the world, Artem has a robust and growing network in Europe and CIS, and is involved with a number of international legal organizations. Artem serves as a Director at the Swedish-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and represents Sweden at the Board of the EU-Canada Chamber of Commerce. Artem is fluent in both Swedish and Russian, and has basic knowledge of Farsi (Persian).
