Maren Wibke Weigl represents clients in contentious proceedings, with a focus on arbitration proceedings. She acts as party representative or secretary of the tribunal in international arbitration proceedings under many major arbitration rules, in particular ICC, SCC, DIS, and HKIAC, as well as in ad hoc proceedings. She also represents clients before state courts. She frequently handles international proceedings, often within an Asian context. Wibke's practice mainly covers a variety of commercial disputes and contractual claims, including breach of contract and defects liability claims, and licence disputes, as well as investment protection on the basis of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), with industry expertise and experience in oil and gas, renewable energy, pharma/life sciences, banking and finance, construction projects as well as international trade. Wibke joined CMS in the beginning of 2021 after two years with an international commercial law firm in Hamburg.
