Personal bio
Karim works for the Dispute Management Department of the leading and oldest arbitral institution in the Middle East and Africa, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). He is also the Co-Founder and Senior Advisor to the Executive Board of the AlexU-CRCICA Arbitration Initiative, a permanent legal education project based in Egypt.
Karim obtained his LL.B. degree from Alexandria University and currently pursuing his postgraduate studies in International Law at Cairo University and the American University in Cairo. He also went to the Africa Arbitration Academy in London, where he had a professional diploma in International Arbitration. He is admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association and a Member of the London-based CIArb.
Prior to joining CRCICA, Karim gained experience in several legal disciplines through interning at prominent law firms and institutions in Egypt, in addition to participating in major regional and international moot competitions as a participant, and then as a coach, supervisor, and arbitrator. Furthermore, Karim’s responsibilities as a founding member of the Executive Board of the AlexandriaU-CRCICA Arbitration Initiative enabled him to gain broad experience in the planning and organization of international events and programs related to the development of legal education.
