Chartered Arbitrator, Mediator & Adjudicator Barrister Pacific Chambers & Former Solicitor Associate Member, 36 Stone Chambers London & `Singapore Started career in London. After qualifying as a barrister, worked in the insurance and transport sector before returning to private practice and requalifying as a solicitor. Practiced in solicitors’ firms in London and Hong Kong principally as a partner for 25 years and conducted commercial litigation in the High Courts of England and Hong Kong including to the highest appeal courts. Substantial and wide experience of international commercial disputes. In 2013, Mary joined the Hong Kong Bar and rejoined the English Bar to focus full time on her arbitrator and mediator practice. Involved in commercial arbitrations since her early years in London, conducting ad hoc as well as institution administered arbitrations including ICC, Uncitral, HKIAC, SIAC, SCMA and CIETAC Rules. Appointed arbitrator since 1996, regularly sits in arbitrations in London, Hong Kong and Singapore in a wide area of commercial disputes including consolidated arbitrations. Sat as sole arbitrator in an ICC arbitration in Manila involving an energy dispute. Regularly judges at Vis East international arbitration moots including at the Finals in 2015 and also Vis Vienna. Mediated large international commercial disputes in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. As an approved CIArb RPL, Course Director, Lecturer, Assessor and Tutor, regularly assists with CIArb training in the APAC region but has trained practitioners in Maldives and Brazil.
