Personal bio
Tanya is an attorney-at-law, independent arbitrator and mediator with over 20 years in private practice. She holds an honours degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, UWI, Cave Hill Campus and a Master’s in International Business Law from the University of York (Osgoode). She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited mediator. In the ADR space she has acted in various capacities as counsel in arbitration-related litigation, tribunal secretary and as an independent arbitrator in a variety of sectors. She is also a rostered court-annexed mediator with the Supreme Court of Barbados.
In addition, Tanya’s serves as the current Chair of the Barbados Chapter Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is Co-Chair of the Caribbean Committee for the Campaign for Greener Arbitration. She presents and publishes on a variety of topics relating to alternative dispute resolution.
Tanya is the current Secretary General of the Arbitration and Mediation Court of the Caribbean (AMCC).
