Personal bio
Mr. Matsumoto graduated the graduate school of Okayama University in 1996 and joined Shimizu Corporation. He is a civil and tunnel engineer from Japan with extensive experience as a project manager and technical advisor for various types of tunnel projects, having been involved in tunnel construction and infrastructure projects for more than 15 years in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and elsewhere. Most of the projects he was involved in are recognized as mega projects. He worked as project manager for one of the longest tunnels in Asia: the Raw Water Tunnel Construction for Pahang – Selangor Raw Water Transfer Project Lot 1-1, which includes 11.6 km of tunnels excavated using Conventional Tunneling Method and 34.4km of tunnels excavated using 3 Nos. of Tunnel Boring Machine. He has contributed technical articles for construction magazines in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan and written many papers for international conferences including the World Tunnel Congress. He also frequently gives lectures in technical institutes and universities in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. He is currently working in Japan as general manager for infrastructure overseas project
