I am holding a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying degree at University of Salford (Partnership with CSCT – Sri Lanka) and currently following the Master of Law Degree (Construction Law and Arbitration) offered by Robert Gordon University – Aberdeen. I am a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and possess more than 6 years experience in both building and civil Engineering projects in Sri Lanka, UAE, KSA and Tanzania. Currently, I am working as a Project Quantity Surveyor in Lysys Qatar W.L.L for Capital and Repair and Maintenance Works for Hamad International Airport (HIA) Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (PIDPS) and reporting to the Commercial and Contracts Manager of the Company. During the employment with Contractor and Consultant organisations, I was mainly involved in the preparation of monthly payment applications, liaise with Engineer for timely certification of payments, cost value reconciliations (productivity analysis), preparation of cost control reports for ongoing projects, pricing tenders (attend pre-bid meetings, estimation and pricing the works, coordination with different departments, etc.), preparation of subcontractor payment certificates, Managing Variations, preparation of tender documents for in-house developments, assisting the Contracts Manager in preparing EoT/prolongation cost claims. I am well competent and experienced in all Quantity Surveying aspects, such as measurements, preparation of Bills of Quantities, payment application/certification, preparation of budgets, variation valuations, claims management and contract administration.
