NORLIZA RASOOL KHAN obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2000. Liza’s main area of practice is corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, the Asian International Arbitration Centre and the Asian International Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre. Experience in a broad range of matters which include joint venture and shareholder disputes, company law and securities litigation, personal data protection, IT law, construction law, insolvency and receivership law and tort disputes including defamation, breach of trust and negligence and probate matters. Having been seconded to the Securities Commission where she handled aspects of administrative and securities laws, she is well versed with the workings of the Capital Markets and its laws including in civil enforcement litigation involving the securities industry. Well versed in Islamic Finance and Banking having obtained an Executive Certificate in Islamic Finance and Banking granted by INCEIF. Nominated as a finalist for the coveted Woman Lawyer of the Year Award 2017, 2020 and 2021 and Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year 2020 and 2021 presented by Thomson Reuter’s Asian Legal Business. Legal 500 has described her as a key figure that handles high–profile cases across a broad range of industry sectors, often in the Court of Appeal and Federal Court. Liza is an Independent and Non-Executive director of RedOne Holdings, a telecommunication MVNO as well as in various other IT related companies.
