Personal bio

Francesco Capotorto is a Senior Director at Ankura based in London. He is a dual nationality (Italian and British), multi-lingual engineer, project management and qualified forensic professional with over 19 years of experience, specializing in delay analysis for complex engineering and construction projects.
His professional experience has focused on resolving disputes, predominantly in international arbitration in energy projects, in matters of complex engineering, procurement, and construction contracts, particularly involving power plants, offshore oil and gas mobile and fixed installations. Further, Francesco has been involved in resolving disputes related to civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical project work scopes, including real estate.
Competent in alternative dispute resolution methodologies, project reviews, planning and scheduling, budgeting, contract and stakeholders’ management, change, risk and interface management, Francesco has worked as a forensic professional, senior project manager, project adviser, project engineering specialist, planner, and in interface and change management roles.

Support an international arbitration for a project in Southeast Asia involving independent delay analysis expert services for the Employer, on an EPC contract for a hydroelectric power plant.
Led an independent delay analysis to provide dispute advice for a major global EPC contractor for a carbon capture and storage project in Europe.
Contributed to an independent delay analysis for the owner of a major international nuclear power plant project involved in a DAB (Dispute Adjudication Board) relating to mechanical and electrical works.
Supported an independent delay analysis in preparation for international arbitration for the construction and commissioning of a salt processing plant in Europe.
Independent delay analysis on behalf of the Employer, in preparation for NEC contract adjudication process relating to design and engineering delays within a wind farm EPC contract in the UK.
Independent delay analysis on behalf of the Employer as part of an international arbitration (ICC), relating to an EPC contract for gas engines within a gas liquefaction plant in the Middle East.
International arbitration (DIFC-LCIA) involving independent delay analysis expert services about a gas terminal construction project executed in the Middle East, instructed on behalf of the Main Contractor (claimant).
