Personal bio

Altamimi is a manager of trade policies unit at the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade, advising on different international trade law and policy matters including the GCC free trade agreements and international dispute settlement regulations. Previously, Altamimi was an academic with wide interests and expertise in diverse areas including civil law and procedure, international commercial arbitration, international trade law, and international courts and tribunals. In addition to his jurisprudence degree at King Saud University, he studied law at Aberdeen and Leeds.

He was a research fellow at the Centre for Commercial Law in Asia at Singapore Management University, and he is member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and an advisory board member of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. He published multiple papers and book chapters with reputable publishers such as Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Brill, and Routledge.

In terms of volunteering, he has worked as a peer review editor, and since 2021 he has been coaching and arbitrating in international moot competitions (Arabic and English). He is passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of international law and arbitration, and welcome any opportunities to collaborate or network with practitioners and academics.
