Keith D’Souza has over 30 years of work experience in the areas of Project Management, Contract Management and Facilities Planning. He has participated in a wide spectrum of infrastructure projects in analytic and management roles with the Vancouver International Airport Authority, PDK Airport Planning Inc. (PAPI) and SNC-Lavalin Inc. He currently offers his expertise in the areas of contract development, project controls and claims management through his independent consulting practice PAPI. His contract management experience includes working with international (FIDIC) and Canadian (MMCD and CCDC) forms of contract, assisting with: developing contract agreements; supporting Clients with fulfilling contract obligations to Contracting Parties, Lenders and State entities; supporting clients and peers with contract interpretation; developing strategies for negotiations; and claims justification and defense. He has assisted clients in Russia, Greece, Brasil, Peru and Canada to develop EPC contracts, monitor contract risk and manage contractual correspondence. His contributions extend to defending against contractor claims, supporting contractor Value Engineering proposals and also preparing successful claims for concessionaires against State authorities, which have yielded tens of millions of dollars in savings for his clients. Keith is an active project manager and has directly managed and supported a number of services and construction projects. Armed with a good understanding of the PMBOK® principles of project management, he has acquired hands-on experience with popular scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS-Project, and cost management techniques that enable him to undertake project controls assignments.
