Personal bio

Richard Levin is an independent international (United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia) and domestic (United States) arbitrator specialising in complex disputes, with a special focus on competition, antitrust, art, sport, corporate disputes and IP cases.

As a point of background he has dealt with international arbitration issues and cross cultural disputes for over 35 years, first as counsel and then as arbitrator. After starting his career as a law clerk to the Hon. John C Godbold (United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit), Richard went on to start his independent career as a litigator at Sullivan & Cromwell (New York). There he worked on complex international cases, mainly competition related later moving to Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld where he was a partner in litigation for almost four decades.

Richard became a Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb) in 2018 and continues to specialise in competition, IP, art, sport, and corporate disputes. More details about his practice can be seen at: www.richardlevinarbitration.com
