Prof. R. Venkat, Professor of Practice- Law, Manipal law school, 38 years (Out of which 32 years in the Middle East) of professional experience in the Construction contracts in all aspects including design, project management, cost planning/estimation, contract administration and dispute resolution. He has interdisciplinary qualifications in Engineering, Construction law and Cost and Management Accountancy. Venkat is an international trainer having conducted several workshops/events all over GCC countries, Far East and India. He designs training programs and educational courses to upskill the professionals based on the market requirements and advancements in the industry.
Venkat is currently tutoring International Arbitration Modules at CIArb, UAE and he has been invited to provide guest lectures at British University Dubai, Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Management (prestigious educational institutions in India) for their Master level courses in Construction law and management. He is also an experienced trainer on various topics related to Contracts, Procurement, construction Claims and Dispute resolution and he has trained over 3000 senior construction professionals during the past 8 years across GCC, Far East and India.
Venkat acts as an arbitrator/Subject Matter Independent Expert in adjudicating construction disputes related to infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Energy, and other commercial projects. Besides acting as a neutral expert, he also acts as party appointed Expert Witness in construction arbitrations.
Venkat has been regularly writing in several magazines related to construction and dispute resolution and his papers have been published in leading construction and arbitration journals.
