I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in main contracting, consultancy and acting as an independent quantum expert witness. My day to day responsibilities include all aspects of quality, delivery and performance and I have delivered contentious, non-contentious and commercial management services across the world. After spending seven years living in the UAE and heading the quantum team of a major consultancy, I am based in London and am regularly appointed on the world’s largest and most complex projects. I have acted for clients in multiple billion-dollar disputes in the US, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
I have given oral evidence 23 times under ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, DIAC, LCIA and LMAA rules and am experienced in ‘witness conferencing’. As a Global Elite Thought Leader in the Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) I have been described as “outstanding in cross examination” and “an exceptional expert”.
As well as all aspects of quantity surveying, I provide opinion on the valuation of terminated works, disputed variations, defective work, extensions of time and the financial impact of late payment and force majeure. This also includes valuing the loss of potential profits as well as the financial impact of non-project related overheads. I have working knowledge of most major standard forms of contract including FIDIC, EPC, NEC, IChemE, ICE and JCT and has worked on major infrastructure and airport schemes, Marine, IT Special Airport Systems, Power, Process, Rail, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Water, luxury commercial & residential properties.
