Yemi Adeola is the Managing Partner of Adeyemi Adeola &Co, a firm of Solicitors with specialization in International Finance Law, Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions and Commercial Arbitration. Prior to assuming the position of Managing Partner, he was Managing Director of Sterling Bank Plc for 10 years (2008-2018). Yemi’s career had traversed the classroom, Legal Practice, Corporate and Tax Consultancy, Arbitration and Board Governance. He lectured Contract and Company Law in two Nigerian Universities namely; University of Benin and Lagos State University. He was a Consultant in Price Waterhouse (now Price WaterhouseCoopers) where he rendered Tax, Legal and Corporate Advisory Services. He was Chief Legal Counsel and Company Secretary at Citibank Nigeria (1988-1998), before making a switch into commercial banking. He was the first Nigerian Executive Director to oversee the commercial banking business of Citibank, Nigeria. Yemi is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He chaired the Ethics Sub-Committee of the Bankers Committee for many years. He is a member of the CIBN Disciplinary Tribunal. He is on the Board of Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC). He has undertaken Senior Management/Executive education programs covering business and leadership areas at leading institutions including, among others; Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, Oxford University and Wharton Business School. He is a JFK Scholar. He holds a Master of Law degree (LL.M) with specialization in Secured Credit Transactions, Comparative Company Law and International Economic Law.
