Personal bio
Francois Landman is qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, a solicitor in Scotland and a solicitor in England and Wales. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law. He has more than 12 years' experience in dispute resolution, with a focus on intellectual property, commercial and insolvency disputes. He is also a qualified Trade Mark Practitioner in South Africa.
Francois holds several qualifications, including Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Accounting and Executive MBA degrees.
In his practice as an advocate, he has appeared before several divisions of the High Court of South Africa and before the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa. He has represented clients before the Constitutional Court of South Africa. He is well-versed in oral and written argument before different fora. Some of his recent attendances include a copyright and unlawful competition trial which lasted in excess of 60 days in trial and urgent patent injunction proceedings.
Francois has also represented clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. He has also acted as an arbitrator in domestic arbitrations. He is listed as a WIPO Neutral (Mediations) and as an arbitrator of Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre South Africa.
