David Fearon BL FCIArb MRICS MCIOB is a barrister and non-practicing solicitor and specialist in construction, engineering and process engineering law, dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters and professional negligence.

He regularly appears in the High Court and TCC, and acts for numerous clients in arbitrations, court proceedings relating to arbitrations, adjudications, adjudication enforcement proceedings and mediations/ADR. He is adept at the provision of early case assessment and advice.

David also deals with general commercial dispute resolution including property related disputes, supply only contracts, labour only contracts, supply of goods and services, IT, disputes with utility providers, specialist manufacturing contracts and associated issues, damage arising from hazardous materials, negligence and nuisance.

David qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and solicitor advocate with rights in all courts in 2004, was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2013 and in Northern Ireland in 2019. He is an accredited mediator and registered public access practitioner.

Before qualifying as a solicitor David worked for many years in the construction, engineering and process engineering industries as a quantity surveyor, project manager and costs control manager on a wide variety of projects throughout the UK, Ireland and the USA. He is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), Chartered Builder (MCIOB) and former chair of the CIOB in Yorkshire, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).

David has acted for a wide variety of clients including international and domestic employers, developers, local authorities, consultants, major, medium and small contractors and specialist sub-contractors, individuals and insurers.
David accepts appointments as adjudicator, arbitrator, legal adviser to arbitrator and mediator.
