Personal bio
Valerie has been a barrister since 1994. She is Chair of the Regulatory group and Wellbeing Director for chambers.
She has a broad ranging practice in criminal and regulatory work. She is experienced in complex factual and legal cases. Her wide-ranging experience means she is very well placed to advise in cases where civil and criminal law intersect. Her practice encompasses cases in the following areas: health and safety, fraud, professional discipline, inquests and inquiries and crime.
She sits as a First Tier Tribunal Judge (Mental Health) and as a Coroner for West London Coroner's Court. She also acts as a legal advisor/assessor for various professional disciplinary regulators. She is an ethics and advocacy trainer for Middle Temple and was a lead facilitator for the South Eastern Circuit's Vulnerable Witness Advocacy Training program.
She has worked in several capacities to promote wellbeing at the Bar and is known for seeking to work collaboratively with all parties. Her work on wellbeing informs her work ethic.
