Personal bio

I am a former UK diplomat, was deputy head of mission, was seconded to third country ministry of foreign affairs, all my jobs at home and overseas were political jobs, in support of various conflict prevention and resolution efforts and interventions, often in the context of advancing the multilateral system to address such conflict such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as well as the European Union. I was also a former UN official, at the grade of senior political affairs officer. I was also a Member of UK government delegations to the UN, OSCE, EU, G8 (as was) and Commonwealth ministerial, heads of government and heads of State, meetings and other events. I am well versed in conflict prevention and resolution work in multilateral and multicultural settings and in hazardous, conflict and post conflict environments. I have acted as senior adviser to heads of mission and I have been head of office, head of unit (security sector reform, political affairs). Good operational and policy skills, ditto representational ones. Broad based conflict mediation, stabilisation experience. I am now trying to build up a portfolio capitalising on these skills and experiences in civil and commercial mediation primarily. I am based in the EU but have flexibility to work as required. Good language ability, including fluent French, operational Spanish, basic Russian. Qualified Arbitrator, CIArb registered (member) as well as qualified CIArb registered Mediator (associate), ditto Civil Mediation Council (CMC, associate) and International Mediation Institute (IMI), The Hague.
