Alexander Aizenstatd, LL.M (Yale), FCIArb, Esq, is an arbitrator and counsel. He holds a Masters Degree from Yale Law School and is a former visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and Public Law in Heidelberg, Germany. He has taught International Public Law, Constitutional Law and International Human Rights at Rafael Landivar University. He also has a diploma from the International Academy for Arbitration Law in Paris, the Center in International Commercial Arbitration at the American University, Washington College of Law and the Xiamen Academy of International Law in China. He is also a former Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. He is a former Member of the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce and a Member of the Task Force “Addressing Issues of Corruption in International Arbitration”. He is a former Director of the Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Industry in Guatemala (CRECIG) and a founder and academic director of the International Arbitration Moot Court Competition. He is a former coach for the team representing Yale Law School at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. He is also a former participant and judge at the International Rounds of the Phillip. C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He is a former Visiting Lawyer at the Interamerican Human Rights Court in Costa Rica. He was awarded the Medal of Professional Excellence by the Honor Tribunal of the Guatemalan Bar Association. His principal areas of practice include arbitration, constitutional law, international law and international human rights. Mr. Aizenstatd is a Lawyer and Notary in Guatemala. He is also admitted to practice law in New York, the Eastern District of Texas and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Aizenstatd is fluent in Spanish and English.
