Nelson Edward Timken is a dispute resolution professional with a distinguished career spanning three decades in the New York State Court System (1994-2023). During this time, he served as a judicial law clerk, playing a pivotal role in settling thousands of diverse legal cases and drafting countless complex and scholarly judicial decisions across a broad spectrum of legal areas.
In 2024, Nelson retired from his government legal practice to embark on a full-time career as a mediator and arbitrator. He is a member of the New York Statewide Mediation Panel (Part 146), a Florida Circuit Certified Mediator, and a New Jersey Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator on the Roster of Court-Approved Civil Mediators. Furthermore, he has been a FINRA Chair Qualified Arbitrator since 2018.

Nelson's extensive experience allows him to offer specialized expertise in a wide range of practice areas, including: commercial litigation: Including complex business disputes, corporate matters, and "business divorces" involving disagreements between partners or shareholders; securities disputes: specifically investor-broker conflicts, drawing on his qualification as a FINRA arbitration; professional liability: Including medical/legal malpractice, attorney-client disputes; general civil litigation: encompassing property damage, personal injury, and real estate disputes; employment law: Including wage and employment claims; foreclosure matters and commercial lending.
