Marco is an experienced and dedicated full-time mediator and arbitrator based in Victoria with clients across British Columbia. He is an experienced lawyer with over 14 years of leading complex legal cases and trials in the British Columbia Supreme Court as well as institutional and ad hoc tribunals regarding workplace, business, corporate, contractual, First Nations, environmental, maritime and resource extraction disputes. Prior to private practice, Marco worked as a Crown Counsel with the Department of Justice Canada working in the Business & Regulatory Law, Aboriginal Law, Criminal Law and National Security & Defence sections and as a Legal Advisor to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

As a mediator, Marco is routinely called upon to resolve a variety of disputes including workplace, business, corporate, contractual, First Nations, and resource extraction disputes. He also leads effective team mediations as well. In 2023 Marco led a number of successful mediations spanning various sectors including a substantial business valuation dispute, a contentious dispute between a local government and an indigenous group, a significant contractual dispute between an energy company and a long-term supplier, along with a number of smaller workplace, business, and corporate shareholder & investor matters.

As an arbitrator, Marco is diligent and fair, with a focus on procedural fairness for all parties. He has adjudicated a number of matters since obtaining his Qualified Arbitrator designation from the ADRBC/ ADRIC in 2015 and holds a post graduate diploma of commercial arbitration from Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Oxford University (Queen’s College). His particular focus has been on adjudicating business, shareholder and contractual disputes.

Marco is a contributing member of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators, the ADR Institute of Canada, Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI), the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (BC & Yukon), the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), the ADR Institute of BC, the Canadian Bar Association, and Mediate BC.
