John Mehrzad KC (call 2005, silk 2020) is a UK barrister and arbitrator, specialising in commercial, employment and sports law disputes - being recognised as having the highest level of experience as advocate, arbitrator and expert in those practice areas. He is regularly appointed to panels or appears before sporting arbitral bodies, both domestic and international, such as the Premier League (including the Managers Arbitrational Tribunal), the English Football League, the Football Association and the Court of Arbitration for Sport. He is an independent panellist for the League Managers Association, the Professional Cricketers Association, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (for its Legal Aid Panel), and Sport Resolutions, which administers domestic and international panels. He was formerly an independent Football Association Discipline Chair for 10 years. Separately, he has been appointed to panels under the London Maritime Arbitrators Association rules and has historically worked on matters arbitrated under the International Chamber of Commerce Rules. John was exceptionally appointed KC after only 12 full years practice - the fastest appointee of his intake. He is also a Governing Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. He studied at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Nantes, Oxford University and BPP Law School (now University). He possesses working French.
