Terry Hawkins is a Managing Director at Secretariat. He specializes in providing independent expert witness services in relation to matters of quantum. His primary areas of concentration are in the valuation of construction claims, including the measurement and valuation of works, valuation of termination claims and the quantification of prolongation and disruption costs. Terry has assisted clients on a wide variety of construction and engineering projects in the energy, infrastructure, real estate and oil & gas sectors in the UK, Europe, South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia. With more than 18 years of experience, Terry has been instructed as an independent quantum expert on a number of occasions and has given expert testimony before ICC tribunals on several occasions. Prior to joining Yendall Hunter, Terry worked with Andrew Yendall and Martin Hunter for 5 years in the Construction Disputes and Advisory team at Alvarez & Marsal and prior to that, Terry spent 5 years working in various commercial roles with major UK Contractors. Terry holds a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying and a Master of Laws degree in Construction Law and Arbitration. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
