Personal bio
I am an experienced international disputes lawyer with extensive expertise in commercial arbitration, litigation, and construction law. I hold an LLB from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, and an LLM in International Commercial Dispute Resolution (with Distinction) from the University of East Anglia, UK.
I have represented clients in both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and Football Association Rules, across the oil and gas, healthcare, mining, and sports (football) sectors. My experience includes advising on complex construction disputes, standards of protection, potential claims under bilateral investment treaties (BITs), and handling arbitration-related litigation. I also have a keen interest in investment treaty arbitration.
Recently, I authored an article titled, “Canada’s Withdrawal from Investor-State Arbitration in the USMCA: Implications and Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms for Investors,” published in Volume 48 of the Canada-United States Law Journal.
