. ADEBANKE AKINBOBOYE -PROFILE Adebanke Akinboboye is a 1984 Law graduate (LLB) of the University of Ife in Nigeria (now Obafemi Awolowo University, she was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985 (BL). She bagged a master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate Management & Finance from Lagos State University in 2002. Adebanke is a Member (MCArb) of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered of Arbitrators, and she is a certified Mediator of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) in 2006 and of the Centre of International Dispute Resolution UK (CEDR) in 2012. She has also obtained training in ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) from ODR Europe and ODR Africa. Adebanke started her professional career in 1985 as a Legal Officer at the National Oil & Chemical Marketing Company (NOLCHEM) now CONOIL Nigeria PLC, dealing with downstream Oil &Gas retail transactions. She joined the “The law Union” a fledging law firm in Lagos as an Associate in 1988, where she was also the Practice Manager. In 2000, she was employed as the Company Secretary / Legal Adviser of NIGERDOCK Limited, a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Transport. Adebanke joined SDV Nigeria Limited now Bollore Transport & Logistics Nigeria Limited, an international logistics, terminal operator and Supply-Chain company as Group Legal Counsel 2001, she was in charge of the Legal, Insurance Ethics & Compliance, claims of the hipping division of the company, comprising of Cross Marine Services Ltd, Alraine Shipping Agencies (Nig.) Limited and TRANSCAP Limited. Adebanke’s main area of specialization is in Maritime practice where she has worked for over 21 years. She was part of the lawyers that reviewed the tender submission for one of the current concessionaires of the Lagos Sea port during the privatization exercise of the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2006. She also has a robust experience in alternate dispute resolution. She is on the list of “Neutrals” at the Lagos Multi-Door Law court (LMDC). And has mediated in many court referred disputes ranging from general contracts, insurance, shipping and maritime claims and labour matters. Adebanke was a Director of Bollore Oil & Gas Services (Nig.) Limited, and Intertrans Nigeria limited. She is a member of the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria, Women International Shipping & Trading Association-Nigeria, (WISTA) and the Nigerian Bar Association She has just taken up a position as the Managing Partner of PIA Solicitors She has a proven track record of commitment to ethics and compliance, she is a strong negotiator, logical and objective.
