Adam is a dual-qualified lawyer with particular expertise in the application of multiple legal systems to arbitration. He has professional qualifications and has been an expert on financial services compliance in a number of different countries. Adam has also decided over 180 domain name cases including the HKIAC published decision in www.madamejojos.com. Adam is a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Adam spent the maximum allowed time (and more) on both the Arbitration Sub-Committee and the Practice and Standards Committee of the Institute, chairing the sub-committee for the last two years of that period. He played a major role in drafting most of the original Practice Guidelines for both domestic and international arbitration. Adam wrote his first book on Jurisdictional Problems in International Commercial Arbitration in 1989 and subsequent books on consumer financial services complaint handling. Although UK-based, Adam has strong connections with Switzerland having spent four years as the staff lawyer responsible for the English-speaking world and arbitration at the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law. He also won an outstanding graduate student prize as an LLM student in US Banking Law at Boston University.
