Yip is a Construction Contracts and Claims Consultant with several years of experience in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor and a claims consultant. He has been involved in notable projects in India, Indonesia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates with iconic high-rise buildings, island reclamation, power plants, rail and infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience in preparing claims for extension of time, variation/change orders, loss & expense, prolongation and disruption for clients all around Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region. Yip also has vast experience in the evaluation of claims and claims defense. Besides providing quantity surveying, contract advisory and contract & project management services, he has also assisted in the preparation of expert reports for the appointed expert witness in arbitration, adjudication, and litigation proceedings in both quantum and delay related disputes. During his career, he has personally led and facilitated negotiations for a dispute between parties in a combined-cycle power plant project for a Contractors' All Risks (CAR) insurance claim, leading to cost savings of USD 15 million. Yip is known for his excellent eye for detail, ability to work independently, technical proficiency, positive working attitude, leadership and great communication skills amongst his colleagues. He is also the co-chair of HKA's Asia Pacific CSR Committee and a member of HKA's Global CSR Steering Committee.
