Personal bio

Veronica is an internationally trained lawyer in Ghana and Canada. She has been admitted to the Ghana Bar. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology (BSc) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Ghana. And acquired her Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) in Canada, Dalhousie university. Her practice interest include Corporate Commercial Litigation, Advisory services and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She specializes in guiding and advising businesses in the natural resources sector on how to address environmental and human rights concerns that arise or may emerge in the course of their operations. She researches on issues relating to Business Human Rights and Environment, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Race and Gender in the Marine and Extractive Industries as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution. Notably, she was part of the team which constituted of some members of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Marine & Environmental Law Institute, to developed a Plastics Toolkit to address Marine Plastic Pollution in the Asia region in 2021. She has consulted for the Development of Ocean Technical Capacity with African Nations (DOTCAN) in Canada. She is a member of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA), Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC), and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Atlantic Institute (ADRAI). And she engages in various speaking/presentation opportunities relating to ADR. Beyond her professional pursuits, she plays highly competitive tennis tournaments in Ghana and Canada at the social level. She enriches her experiences through her volunteer work with Rotary International where she relishes her opportunity to connect with and collaborate alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds.
