I clerked at the Constitutional Court of South Africa in 2004. On leaving the court I practiced at Bowman Gilfillan Inc., one of the largest commercial firms for almost five years. I left Bowman Gilfillan to take up a post as a Director at Bell Dewar Inc (currently Fasken Martineau), at the time a boutique firm where I managed the Pro Bono Department for almost three years with a team of two professionals reporting to me. After practicing as an attorney for 10 years I was called to the Bar and now practice as an Advocate of the High Court and a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates.

As an attorney, my main areas of practice were employment, administrative, constitutional and regulatory law. I dealt with mining, environmental and housing law predominantly from the perspective of the affected communities. I still prolifically practice in these areas for government and corporate clients.

I practice in all areas of regulatory law including oil and gas, mining, environmental, constitutional, administrative and employment law. I also practice in quasi-judicial tribunals such as AFSA and the relevant employment tribunals. I have completed a course in intellectual property. My practice areas have also expanded to include commercial litigation including breach of contract, business rescue and insolvency proceedings. I have also advised on, litigated and arbitrated construction disputes in the housing consumer sector.
