Karah advises clients through high value cross-border disputes in connection with major construction, infrastructure and energy projects. Recent energy work includes preparation of claims submissions for hydrocarbon processing and water injection facility contract in Saudi Arabia, advising on rights and liabilities under combined cycle power plant project in Bangladesh, and a joint venture dispute for a combined cycle power plant in Thailand. Recent infrastructure work includes managing a subcontractor’s defence in ICC arbitration on a transport project for civil works in Qatar, advising a mining conglomerate on its defence to a contractor’s claims in Australia and guiding a global consultancy in respect of claims raised by an owner on a Hong Kong civil works project.
Karah represents clients as counsel in arbitrations under rules of HKIAC, ICC and SIAC seated in cities in Middle East, Europe and around Asia. She has acted as sole arbitrator on HKIAC and ICC cases. She is listed in the 2023 Legal 500 Arbitration Powerlist – Hong Kong Region and ranked recommended with WWL Lexology Construction and Arbitration Future Leaders.
