A member of the litigation and disputes team, Mark practices in the areas of complex commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, business litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He has extensive experience in international and domestic arbitration, acting as both counsel and as arbitrator under all the major arbitral rules (including ICDR, AAA, ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC, ICSID, NAFTA, CPR, WIPO, CAS, CAM, CAFTA) as well as ad hoc disputes under UNCITRAL rules. Mark has represented numerous clients in matters regarding international and domestic construction contracts, power purchase and sale agreements, energy contracts, joint ventures, and project finance and development agreements. He is also a leading commentator on the avoidance and resolution of climate change and sustainability disputes. In addition, he has extensive experience litigating banking, financial and securities transactions. Mark's clients include global financial institutions, major corporations, governments and state-owned entities, from across all industry sectors including energy (oil and gas, power and renewables), infrastructure, mining and commodities, transport, banking and finance, and technology and innovation. Mark and his global team are regularly entrusted with some of the most sensitive, high-value and strategically important matters, and he works closely with his clients to achieve their commercial objectives in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
