I acted as a litigator from my call to the bar in 1967 until my appointment as a Case Management Master in 1997 in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. I acted in a wide variety of civil actions at all levels of court to and including the Supreme Court of Canada including commercial actions, construction lien actions and construction contract actions both while serving the private sector and for 13 years while a Crown Law Officer the last 10 of which I was in charge of the Crown Law Office – Civil Law which provided litigation services to all Ontario Ministries including the Ministry of Transportation. As a Master over a 13 year period in addition to dealing with interlocutory proceedings in civil actions in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice I dealt with over 400 construction lien references involving over 2,000 lien claimants. Since my retirement in 2013 I have acted as a mediator and arbitrator in construction and commercial disputes, a claims officer in Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act proceedings and as a referee chosen from the roster of referees administered by the ADR Institute of Ontario, Inc. for The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the Ontario Road Builder's Association (ORBA). • 1965 June, Graduated with a LL.B.
