Personal bio
Dr. Verissimo is a Tenured Professor of Law at the University of São Paulo (Department of Public Law) since 2010. He is a former Commissioner at the Brazilian Antitrust Authority (CADE) (2011-2013) and a former member of the senior management at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) (2009-2011). Verissimo has a Bachelor of Laws, a Master of Laws, and a Doctor in Law degrees issued by the University of São Paulo, and was a Visiting scholar at Yale University. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate, public and competition law, with a particular focus on disputes. Dr. Verissimo is an arbitrator in Brazil and a Ciarb Fellow, and his main areas of experience include project finance disputes, regulatory disputes, M&A disputes, and competition law disputes.
