Reda Farouk is an accredited and chartered international arbitrator with a strong background in international commercial arbitration, specializing in complex investment disputes between foreign investors and states. He possesses extensive experience and a deep understanding of cross-border jurisdictions, including the legal systems of England and Wales, as well as those of the Middle East and Egypt.
He represents foreign investors and sovereign states in investment disputes involving multiple jurisdictions and legal frameworks. His experience includes working on cases concerning state contracts with foreign parties, venture capitalists, and large corporations in sectors such as construction, energy, and natural resources.
He has participated in both ad-hoc arbitration and those governed by prominent international arbitration institutions, including the LCIA, ICC, ICSID, CRCICA, and UNCITRAL Rules. With extensive legal and arbitration practice in Egypt and England since 1996, he is registered as a professional arbitrator in England, licensed to practice before Egypt’s Court of Cassation, and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), as well as a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Additionally, he is bilingual in Arabic and English and is a dual national (British and Egyptian), enabling effective communication with a diverse client base. He holds an LLM in International Commercial Law, focusing on International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration from the University of Reading, England.
